Isabella d’Este (1474-1539) was one of the first and greatest female patrons and art collectors of the Renaissance period.

She had a clever, educated and entitled voice singing out from thousands of letters and images from Da Vinci to Titian bringing alive a woman whose eye for fashion was every bit as keen as her eye for art.

Our lecturer Sarah Dunant is a well-known novelist, broadcaster and critic.

Her last six novels have been set within the Italian Renaissance and her new book featuring Isabella is due to be published the week before our lecture. She is also to record a series of 5 talks on Isabelle on Radio 4 at the end of June. #artssocietystourbridge
