World Wide Knit in Public Day is Saturday June 14! 8:30am-3:00pm
We have again reserved the Stoughton Rotary Park for our 5th annual WWKIP event!
Attendance is FREE!
There will be door prizes all day!
Pack your projects, chair, snacks and a friend!
Specials at the store from 3pm-5pm.
*Note - Please bring a lawn chair, snacks and beverages. There is a water fountain but we do not have food vendors planned at this time.
The 5th annual Walk and Knit Competition
begins at 9am.
Registration is required. It is ALOT of fun!
Knitters will be given a project bag with 15 stitches cast onto needles. Knitters have 10 minutes to walk and knit as many rows as possible and finish a 500 meter course. Rows with errors do not count.
Packet pickup is from 8:30-9am. Ribbon Cutting to start the event is at 9am. Walk and knit to start just after ribbon cutting. Winners to be announced at about 11:30am.
Register by June 10th at midnight for $30 cost
Cost increases to $35 from June 11th-14th.
Kits include a ball of yarn, pair of straight bamboo needles, a finisher leather tag, project bag, and a free pattern.
There are a limited number of kits available.
This is not a distance competition in any way. No running will be allowed. (We prefer you walk at a snail's pace.) There will be a liability waiver form required for walk and knit participation. First heat of walkers will start at approximately 9:05am. We will run as many 10-minute heats as we have participants and anticipate winners to be announced at about 11:30am.
The store will be open normal hours during the event.
