The Adirondack Adventure Center is excited to announce that it will be hosting the first annual “Riverfest”, a community appreciation event and fundraiser for the Morgan Duke Conservation Society!
Who?
The Adirondack Adventure Center will be hosting this event to benefit the Morgan Duke Conservation Society, a local nonprofit that spends countless hours planting trees, painting picnic tables and picking up garbage in “Buttermilk”, a New York State Outdoor Recreation Area located along the West side of the Hudson River in the Town of Lake Luzerne.
What?
This event will feature live music from local artists, a variety of local craft vendors, food trucks, free river tubing and railbiking for residents of Lake Luzerne, Hadley and Stony Creek (including shuttle and equipment), a bounce house, face painting, cornhole tournament and petting zoo! There will also be a 50/50 raffle, as well as raffle baskets from a variety of local businesses. All proceeds generated from raffle baskets, Cornhole Tournament, and 50/50 will be donated to the Morgan Duke Conservation Society so that they can continue to keep Buttermilk clean for everyone to enjoy!
Where?
Riverfest will take place at the Adirondack Adventure Centers “Buttermilk Outpost” located at 331 Warrensburg Road in Stony Creek, NY.
When?
June 21st. Vendors, live music and raffles, activities from 12pm-8pm.
Why?
There are two main reasons that this amazing event is being held:
First, we want to bring awareness and support environmental conservation efforts that are ongoing in the area known locally as “Buttermilk”. This incredibly beautiful wild forest is home to an amazing diversity of
wildlife and offers awesome outdoor recreation opportunities including Hiking, Camping, Kayaking, Fishing and Tubing.
Second, we hope to bring the community together in celebration of the natural beauty of the area which we live in. We hope this event will shine light on a variety of local small businesses, craftsmen, community organizations, and expose the area’s youth to the amazing outdoor recreation opportunities that exist right outside their doorstep!
