About Boot: Roland “Boot” Boutwell, a freelance itinerant naturalist, has been leading nature walks for The Friends of the Fells for nearly 25 years. He has also led walks and/or taught botany programs for a number of other organizations including The Trustees of Reservations, Arlington Community Education, The Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions, Winchester public schools, Wright-Locke Farm in Winchester, The New England Wild Flower Society and the Massachusetts Audubon Society.

About the Walk: April showers bring May flowers. We are well into May and lots of Spring wildflowers are in full bloom in Virginia Wood. Join Boot Boutwell on a slow-paced nature walk to seek them out. In addition to the usual plant ID and fun and interesting natural history, our talk will be sprinkled with poetry, readings and lore.

Meet in the driveway of #1 Woodland Rd at the intersection of Woodland Rd and Pond Street in Stoneham.
