🍷 Sweet sips, delicate bites, and lots of love 💕
This Mother’s Day, treat the moms in your life (or yourself!) to a tasting class that’s equal parts elegant and joyful. We’re pairing the airy, colorful charm of French macarons with three perfectly matched wines in a guided tasting that celebrates all things sweet, sparkling, and bold — just like Mom!
Whether you're raising a glass to your own mom, celebrating with your kids, or honoring the beautiful bond of motherhood in any form, this is an experience to savor. Come ready to swirl, sip, snack, and smile.
Because nothing says “I love you” like wine and dessert.
🌞 MIMOSA MAGIC A great mimosa is made from the best ingredients, so we never scrimp on the fundamentals. We'll start with a refined French sparkler, the 2022 Saint-Hilaire Blanquette de Limoux Brut, and experiment with blood orange, guava, and watermelon juice mixers.
🌸 WISE WOMAN The tiny southern French town of Minervois is named for Minvera, the ancient Roman goddess of wisdom. 2023 Château de Paraza Minervois Rosé is perfect in pink for spring.
🍷 MOTHER ZIN When the Pedroncelli family bought the winery in the 1920s, there was one patch of Zinfandel that they cloned and grafted and planted to hundreds of acres of vines. This 2021 Pedroncelli "Mother Clone" Zinfandel is a testament to this irreplaceable role.
PLEASE NOTE Wine & food menus are subject to change based on availability, inspiration, and whimsy!
WHO SHOULD ATTEND This is a tasting designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike. It assumes some exposure to wine but little or no formal wine knowledge. This program is appropriate for both consumers and professionals in all wine, food, hospitality and service industries.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN Students will learn technical wine tasting, wine grapes, and fundamentals of wine style. The emphasis is on providing an overview of wine and wine tasting, plus a deep understanding of pairing concepts.
There’s a ton of great wine education out there for people at the top of the wine world – WSET, Master Somm, Master of Wine, multiple wine scholars – but what about the rest of us? Where’s that useful, understandable, engaging wine education for people at all levels of experience who love wine or maybe work with wine?
Welcome to the Boston Wine School!
You don’t have to be a somm – or even aspire to be a somm – to take our classes. BWS is a 100% snob free zone where real people come to learn how to taste, think, and talk about wine. And food. And history, geology, geography, you name it – all the ways people understand and engage with wine.
We know how to make wine class a delightful workshop where you put what you learn about yourself and technical wine tasting into direct expression. Classes are small – usually 14 max – and our signature teaching style is interactive, technically informative, and deeply engaging. We teach and learn about wine by tasting wine, and equally important, our students learn about themselves and each other.
