We have a few things going on during the day and evening on Saturday 30th August. We hope you can join in some or all of the day!
1. SAVE A LIFE!
We will be hosting a swabbing event facilitated by Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHS) and DKMS. They are focused on building a donor list to help identify matches for those who need life saving help. It is just a short swab of the inside of your cheeks and completing an app based form in a matter of minutes. Your details will be anonymised and it is only if you are matched in the future that you will be asked if you wish to proceed as a donor. In 90% of cases the process is as simple as giving blood.
Every 20 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. For many, a blood stem cell donation from a match is their best chance od special. The more on the list, the more chance of a match and being able to live.
Our Vice Chair, Dave Hotson, is a volunteer for LHS and we would love th whole community to come together and help. Please extend the invitation to as many people as possible.
2. We will also have cricket on with the 2nd XI hosting Royton. The bar remains welcoming and very affordable!
3. We are delighted to be able to present the entertaining BandAge again live on the terrace! This fantastic band will raring to go again so bring your backing shoes!
4. And we have food too! The main man, Matt’s Mobile Fish and Chips will be frying up a culinary delight as always. He will be there as the band crack on!
