I ”Tagning 2” suddar Mateas Pares ut gränsen mellan sin roll som curator och som konstnär genom att återvända till tidigare konstnärssamarbeten. Resultatet är en resa in i den ofta grumliga dynamiken mellan relationella, konstnärliga, och personliga mål.
Sex konstnärer, vars tidigare samarbeten med Pares i samband med utställningar på StudyForArtPlatform präglades av konflikter, bjöds in att medverka. Utställningen var på så sätt menad att skänka utrymme för ett nytt försök — en nollställning, en tagning två. Tre svarade aldrig. Tre tackade nej. Kvar står två av Pares egna skulpturer, omgivna av svarta, tomma placeholders som markerar de platser där de andra konstnärernas verk var tänkta att stå.
Utställningen, tillsammans med den medföljande texten — bestående av den ursprungliga inbjudan och konstnärernas svar (eller frånvaro av svar) — fungerar på så sätt inte som en kommentar, utan som ett dokument av ett skeende. En gest.

Take 2
In ”Take 2”, Mateas Pares blurs the line between his role as curator and as artist by revisiting former artist collaborations, resulting in a journey into the often ambiguous dynamics between relational, artistic, and personal aims.
Six artists, whose previous collaborations with Pares in connection with exhibitions at StudyForArtPlatform were marked by conflict, were invited to participate. The exhibition offered in this way a renewed attempt — a reset, a second take. Three never responded. Three declined. What remains is Pares’ own two sculptures, surrounded by empty black placeholders marking the locations intended for the other artists‘ works.
The exhibition, together with the accompanying text — consisting of the original invitation and the artists’ responses (or absence thereof) — serves, in this way, not as commentary, but as a document of an unfolding. As gesture.
