Welcome to the Sunday Jam - a Contact Improvisation dance jam!
We start every Sunday Jam with a guided intro (17.00-18.00) from an experienced CI mover, where we dance both solo and in contact as a means to (re)meet some basic CI techniques, warm up the body, and reach a natural flow of movement. This will be followed by an open jam (18.00-20.00).

(OBS! No jam 2 March and 20 April)
Where: Hornsgatan 93, 117 28, Stockholm
Doors open before the intro (16.50) and after (18.00). Come at one of these times to be let in!
Membership and price
Starting January 2025 the Sunday Jam is organised by the non-profit association “Kontaktimprovisation Stockholm.” Members of the newly created non-profit organisation get to jam/dance for amazingly low prices and be part of co-creating our community!
As a member, you will be invited to the annual meeting where members can influence various decisions relating to the organisation, as well as attend other potential dance events exclusively for members.
There are three types of membership:
- For 1000 SEK you have free entry to the Sunday jam for the whole calendar year and are a member for the whole calendar year.
- For 700 SEK you have free entry to the Sunday jam for a whole term. You are also a member for the whole calendar year.
- You can also become a support member for SEK 200 per calendar year (for example if you do not live in Stockholm but want to join the association). The drop-in price for a support member/non-member is 100 SEK per jam via Swish or cash.
-For non-members, drop-in price for the jam is 100 SEK via Swish or cash.

About Contact Improvisation
Contact Improvisation is a form of dance art with multiple layers and dimensions, where listening and staying in tune with your own movement in relation to your environment; the space, and other people is key.
It is a dynamic movement form and dance practice where we move in and out of physical contact, following gravity and sensation. Together we engage in a fluid, evolving flow of movement characterized by unpredictability that sharpens the reflexes and opens up for an enigmatic interaction and (dis)orientation in and through us.
Contact Improvisation was developed in the context of experimental postmodern dance and performance practice in the 1970s in the USA but has since expanded beyond its original
contexts and is now practiced by diverse communities of movers across many parts of the world.

This event is open for everyone with a curiosity to dance in and out of contact. Dancing, observing and being in space is all part of the jam. Take care of yourself and the space of improvisation; we emphasize that you are free to enter or leave a dance at any time. To keep the focus on dance in the space, talking and socialization takes place outside of the studio. If you want to pause your dance, please move to the side. We dance barefoot in comfy clothes.
