78 Years of Partitioned Voices” is an international event commemorating the Partition of Indian subcontinent in 1947 that gave birth to India and Pakistan amidst cataclysmic upheavals and an end to British colonialism. This event is curated with a rethinking of Partition narratives to rethink the divisive rhetoric and bring together voices of academics, artists and South Asian activists to analyse the forces of creativity, soldiarities and syncretism that gives us alternative ways to think of Partition’s grand narratives.
We are delighted to present renowned academics from around the world: We have assembled a remarkable group of scholars and artists, including
Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed (Stockholm University),
Dr. Amrita Ghosh, Assistant Professor South Asian Literature, Department of English, University of Central Florida,
Dr. Faqooq Sulheri (Swedish Kashmiri, Beacon house Pakistan),
Dr. Aamir Butt (UK),
Hamama Bushra, renowned Pakistani American artist.
Your presence would enrich our discussions by bringing together Indian, Pakistani, and Kashmiri perspectives.
