Join the Ranger Service on a very special and popular walk
Our only organised walk to Torwood this year with the rangers as your guide.
Places are limited so please book your place by emailing the rangers.
This 7 mile walk begins at Forth Valley Hospital and follows the old tree lined Stirling carriage route past woodlands such as Raspberry wood, Baxter and Oakbank woodland. The walk then heads up towards Pamphelgoat wood to discover the Blue pool and find out why it appears Blue!
From here we head up to the best preserved lowland broch in central Scotland, Tappoch Broch where we will have lunch on its 2000 year old walls. Discover ancient graffiti and magical carvings!
After lunch we will visit the site of Torwood castle, built in 1566 before heading back along the carriage route to Larbert. An amazing walking route with tons of atmosphere and history.
Bring a packed lunch. Suitable footwear and waterproofs. Easy route but may be MUDDY in parts depending on the weather.
This is a route of around 7 miles long. (11km)
