Sunday 27th April 7.00 p.m.
Spring Concert 'The Italian Job'
Following a highly successful a capella concert in November, of Rachmaninoff, All-Night Vigil (Vespers), Rosenethe Singers' first concert of 2025, the Spring Concert, will have a distinctly Italian flavour, comprising predominantly of sacred music from the Baroque era and ending with a song from a well-known 1960s film..!
The Rosebery Quartet will accompany Rosenethe Singers, with Frances Pryce, Katrina Bateman (Violins), Alison Hastie (Viola) & Aline Gow (Cello). The quartet last accompanied us at our beautiful Spring Concert of 'Dido and Aeneas' in 2023, also at the Church of the Holy Rude.
While soloists will be drawn mainly from the choir, local mezzo-soprano Ruby Ginoris will join us for the evening. Ruby is a graduate of music (University of Glasgow) and currently sings with the NYCoS Chamber Choir. She also conducts the Forth Valley off-duty Nurses' Choir. Ruby was a soloist at our recent Rachmaninoff concert. We are delighted she is joining us for this Spring Concert.
The programme includes:
~ Vivaldi, Gloria
~ Monteverdi, Beatus vir & Four Motets
~ Pergolesi, The Magnificat
~ Rossini, Quando corpus morietur (Stabat Mater)
&
~ Quincy Jones, Getta Bloomin' Move on! (The Self Preservation Society) (The Italian Job)
Tickets are £15 (schoolchildren free) and available from choir members; GS Meldrum (Newsagents), Dunblane or online at Ticket Tailor
