Garden Design for a Changing Climate - Short Course

The focus for this practical course is "Garden Design for a Hot Climate". Topics covered in this course will include climate factors affecting your garden, soil and how to improve it, irrigation options, choosing the layout of your garden, plant selection, choosing a location, and much more!

This is a hands-on course in which the students will have use of The Hut’s facilities such as the greenhouse and it's propagation unit, the vegipods, wicking beds and the pot culture system, all which will suit various crops, fruits, shrubs and trees.

This Term 2 course starts on Thursday May 15 from 10am to 2pm and occurs on the following dates:

Thursday May 15 10am - 2pm; Tuesday May 20 10am - 2pm; Thursday May 29 10am - 2pm; Tuesday June 3 9am - 3pm & Thursday June 5 10am - 2pm.

There will be two field trips during this course. The first is on Tuesday May 20 to Belair Nursery & Coromandel Valley Nursery and the second is on June 3 to Raywood Nursery in Deep Creek and Polar Grove Nursery in Sellicks. Bus transport is available for students and will leave The Hut Community Centre at the Session time.

Space is limited to 16 to 18 persons.
