🌞 Class Description:
Summer doesn’t just bring the heat, it brings the medicine!
Summer Herbcraft is a hands-on herbal workshop rooted in local plant knowledge and seasonal wellness. We’ll explore the herbal allies of high summer: what’s growing wild around us, what the season calls for in terms of support, and how to work with what you’ve got, whether that’s from your yard, the roadside, or your kitchen.
You’ll learn how to identify and use summer herbs and “weeds” for cooling, digestion, sun care, skin health, bug bites, stress, and more. We’ll taste some infusions, craft a blend to take home, and talk about wildcrafting ethically and practically in your local ecosystem.
🌾 What We'll Cover:
- Seasonal herbal energetics (why summer asks for cooling, moistening, and calming herbs)
- Common summer weeds and wild plants with medicinal value (like plantain, yarrow, mimosa, passionflower, elder, red clover, poke, goldenrod, etc.)
- Wildcrafting basics – how to harvest responsibly and identify plants safely
- Tea blending basics – taste + function + energetics
- Making simple summer remedies – cooling teas, bug bite soaks, herbal electrolyte drinks, after-sun sprays
- Q&A
🍵 Hands-On Activity:
- Create your own loose-leaf herbal tea blend to take home
- Choose from a selection of seasonal herbs with different cooling, calming, and skin-supportive properties
- Sample 1–2 house blends during class
🌿 Take-Home Materials:
- Your own personalized, handcrafted loose-leaf tea blend
- A printed Summer Herbcraft Guide: identification notes, remedy recipes, wildcrafting tips, and tea blend ideas
- Printed class material
