Plants You Can Eat, Plants You Should Avoid

The Portage County Public Library will host a talk on edible plants and other poisonous plants, led by Dr. Robert Freckmann, beginning at 6:00pm on Monday, August 18 at its Stevens Point Branch.
Dr. Freckmann, Professor Emeritus of Biology at UW-Stevens Point, will discuss edible plants found around Wisconsin and plants to avoid because of their poisons. (Please note no actual edible or poisonous plants will be on site, just pictures and a handout.) Dr. Freckmann is a highly regarded scholar in the field of botany and he is cofounder of the Robert W. Freckmann herbarium at UWSP.
