Learn to Ski Workshop

The Sandilands Ski Club Learn to Ski Workshops provide new skiers with the foundational skills for a fun cross-country skiing experience!

This workshop is designed for beginner skiers of all ages to develop the necessary skills for a winter of fun on the trails. Lead by certified coaches from our Jackrabbits program, kids, families, and new skiers of all ages will learn a progression of skills in a group format using games and exercises.

Note: While kids are welcome, they must be accompanied by an adult.

• Warm-ups
• Recovering from a fall
• Gliding
• Kick (classic ski technique)
• Using poles
• Going up and down hills

We will meet at Quarry Oaks, where we will use the "grid" learning area to practice some techniqures, then we'll head out to explore some of the trails. Along the way you'll receive individualized tips on how to improve, and have the opportunity to ask questions. We'll wrap up with snacks!

• $12 per person per session (includes processing fees)
• Trail fees ($7/day including processing fees for non-members)

Each participant is responsible for bringing their own skis.

In case of extreme cold or blizzard conditions the workshop will be cancelled, at the discretion of Sandilands Ski Club and workshop facilitators. If this happens fees will be refunded. If it's cold but not "extreme cold", expect the workshop to go on, making necessary adjustments to ensure the safety of all participants.
