Still Life with Oil Paint
Course Description:
This comprehensive course is designed for beginners to intermediate painters. Over the span of two days, you will learn essential techniques such as creating an underpainting, building a grisaille, and applying the fat-on-lean principle. We will gradually build color as we develop our oil paintings. Join us for an enriching experience where you will gain valuable skills and insights into the art of still life painting!
Schedule:
Day 1: Friday (3 Hours)
We will begin by sketching our still life arrangement and creating a monochromatic underpainting. Focus will be placed on working with space, light, shades, and distance, while exploring volume through gradation techniques.
Day 2: Saturday (5 Hours)
In our second session, we will build upon our painting, using the fat-on-lean principle to gradually introduce color and highlights into our artwork. This hands-on approach will help you understand the layering process and the importance of texture in oil painting.
Throughout the course, I will assist you with an open mind and a classical understanding of the venetian technique, ensuring that you gain confidence and skill in your painting practice. Join us for a rewarding experience that celebrates the art of still life!
