—————
By autobiographically and artistically exploring my traumatic experience, I step as if into a dark forest. The artistic research The Rose Effect is deeply personal to me — yet not only personal. Through this work, I raise questions related to socially stigmatized topics: sexual violence, mental illness, psychological and physical abuse, and suicide.
As is often the case for those affected by emotional trauma, I found myself caught in a spiral of moral decline, accompanied by a sense of isolation and marginalization. During this research, I reveal — to myself and to you — scenes of gang rape, which I never initially intended to analyze. Yet working with autobiographical trauma gave me the courage to speak. Two central themes emerged: sexual violence and mental health — the very core of this exhibition.
I’ve long asked myself why it feels so important to speak about this experience. I believe it is because prolonged silence and hidden shame suffocate from within — they suppress and re-traumatize. Silence perpetuates violence. And if I can break this silence through my work, perhaps it means I didn’t go through it all for nothing.
