In the 1980’s, the Barron Broadcasting Studio put together a British attempt to rival the successful ‘Lethal Weapon’ movie franchise. However, a big budget action movie was outside the scope of the BBS. Instead, a made for TV ‘extended pilot’, a two-parter, was made. ‘Legal Force’ saw DCI Dean Munton and his regular team of DS Ray Heineken, DC Chris Shilton and WPC Amy Wheelright taking on various villains as part of the Metrochester Police Force.
The pilot had some varied but largely positive reviews. A season of 5 episodes was commissioned. However, audience feedback led to a few changes. First of all, it was decided to try out a different Cast in each episode. The Stars, Co-Stars and Extras on the Hero and Villain sides were portrayed by different actors, with pretty much the same story each episode. This was all down to the writers, Graham Ashley and Matthew Pharaoh, and the ‘experimental auteur director’ Tarquin Le Mervilleaux - Cochon.
Unfortunately, the public wasn’t really ready for this kind of shenanigans in the 1980’s, and the head of Barron Studios returned from another yachting holiday to find out what had been done. The whole concept was shelved and a second series was cancelled. It wasn’t until the showing in the 1990’s of Lynchee’s ‘Two Mountain Diner’ that audiences were willing to accept such concepts.
Players create either a Hero or Villain Cast of 40 ratings. Casts must each include an ‘iconic motor’ of the 1980’s or earlier, and at least one Star and one Co-Star. Each episode will be largely the same, specially adapted from one of those in the CRB but given a twist by the Event Organiser. The day will consist of four similar game set-ups, but not exactly the same. Casts arrive in their ‘iconic motor’ and then continue the Episode as detailed in the ‘script’.
Cost of the day will be £12, payment through PayPal to
