OBJECTIVESThe 7 C’s of Communication
- Understand and articulate the importance of clarity, completeness, conciseness, concreteness, correctness, courtesy, and considerateness in effective communication.
- Implement the 7 C’s in daily interactions to enhance professional communication with colleagues, patients, and families.
Application and Connections of Communication
- Explore practical strategies for connecting effectively within nursing teams, with patients, family members, and the broader community.
- Develop a deeper understanding of self-awareness in communication and its impact on professional practice.
REGISTRATION and TARGET AUDIENCE- Attendance at this FREE event is EXCLUSIVE to Stanford Medicine Children's Health employees. There is no charge for participation; however, claiming CE contact hours will incur a fee.

CONTINUING EDUCATIONThis continuing education (CE) course is offered through Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford by the Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry (CPEI). Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN), Provider Number 9713.
Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry is accredited as provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).
Earning CE Credits
- To be eligible for Continuing Education (CE) credits, participants are required to attend the entire course or event and complete the course evaluation. Partial credit cannot be granted for late arrivals or early departures.
Certificate Issuance and Record Keeping
- CE certificates will be distributed within 30 days of course completion. Participants are responsible for maintaining their personal records of accrued CE documentation. Certificates must be retained for four years following the course date and are valid for a single use toward registered nurse license renewal.

- NO REFUND for cancellations less than 5 days prior to course date.
- NO SHOWS or cancellations on the day of class are considered unexcused absences. Managers will be notified. A medical note may be required in the event of illness or medical emergencies.
- Cancellation by CPEI: Schedules, venues and details are subject to change and cancellation. Registered participants will be provided with as much advance notice as possible if this should occur. Full refund will be granted.
