An evening with Deb Curtis.
Children come to our programs with avid curiosity, determination, bigheartedness and delight in engaging with people and the world around them. Their eager curiosity fuels their explorations, and their innate ability to build relationships is central to their learning and development. How can we slow down to see these competencies and offer the support they deserve rather than inadvertently undermining their natural gifts?
This evening you are invited to …
· Reflect on stories of the remarkable way children’s relationships and learning unfold through their interactions with one another.
· Consider research and learning theories such as schema explorations, the compassionate instinct and identity development to meet up with children’s competencies in their daily pursuits.
· Strengthen your image of children, their families, and your role as an educator.
· Re-energize your spirit and rediscover the joys of working with children, while helping build a kinder world.
Meet the Presenter
Greetings! My name is Deb Curtis. I am a passionate advocate for children and childhood. Over the years, I have worked with children and educators throughout North America, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia, observing children and studying child development. I’ve written several books related to my observations and experiences, and at present, I’m a mentor teacher at Interlaken Preschool in Seattle, WA. Observing children to study their points of view and sharing the stories of this remarkable time in their lives has been my intellectual, emotional and spiritual journey. Let’s pause and marvel about children together!
