FULL WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS BELOW
==========
1:1 Private Lessons with Timmie Wong (3-5PM)
Timmie Wong (that's me!) has been social dancing as part of the Stanford dance community for 15 years. This year Timmie will be teaching private lessons with a specialization in cross-step and rotary waltz, his most experienced and accomplished dances. Be sure to register in advance to be eligible for being assigned a private lesson slot!
Preregistration is required for private lessons. Please register at

==========
"Creating Swing Connection" by Jason Fang (5-6PM)
Whether in Lindy-Hop, Hustle, West Coast Swing, Fusion, or any of the other dances that start from a simple handhold, there's an otherwise-invisible principle that generates your elasticity, momentum, directionality, and creativity. In this class, you'll learn the unifying principle between the different Swing dances as it evolved over the years, level-up your partnering abilities and spatial awareness, and take home a new lens by which to think about fancy moves, and properly dissect some of the movements you might want to steal -- err...learn.
Prerequisites: None, but the class will be tailored toward dancers who already have some experience with swing and Lindy Hop
==========
"Power Moves" - by Chris Ling and Anna Zeng (6-7PM)
What do you do when the big hit comes and the beat drops? Come learn some examples of powerful moves to match the powerful moments in the music, to inspire you to create your own — as well as the floorcraft to do it safely.
Prerequisites: Be comfortable with dances and basic patterns from Social Dance 1 (Waltz, Swing, etc.)
==========
"Intermediate Rotary Waltz: Musicality" by Cameron Schaeffer and Rocky Aikens (7-8PM)
Looking for ways to make each of your dances more unique? In this class we'll give you the tools you need to predict changes in the energy of the music you're dancing to. Then, we'll show you how to match those changes by modifying patterns you already know! We'll practice dissecting the different layers of sound in a song and reflecting each of them in our movement. By the end, you’ll be crafting dances that are more expressive, dynamic, and musically connected.
Prerequisites: Minimum requirement of at least 3 months of rotary waltz + comfortable with grapevine and shadow position.
==========
"Beginning Fusion Foundations" by Gem Chien
Come explore a new way to combine your dance moves into a new and exciting dance experience! Fusion dancing is a contemporary lead-follow dance that blends Tango, WCS, Smooth Lindy, and Blues together. In this class, we'll discuss lead/follow connection, extension/compression, and frame. With this foundation, we'll apply the techniques to explore ways to play with the music, add musicality to your movements, and improvise a partner dance style for any song that happens to be playing in the background!
Prerequisites: Social Dance 1 + one class {Social 2, Social 3, Living Traditions, History of Waltz} or equivalent experience
