About the event

THE HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN YIDDISH THEATER
THE HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN YIDDISH THEATER

A musical overview with ZALMEN MLOTEK, Artistic Director of the National Yiddish Theater Folksbiene

A one-of-a-kind journey of the Yiddish theater, from its European Roots to Ellis Island, Second Avenue and beyond. Translating as he sings, Mr. Mlotek weaves storytelling-in-song which take us from despair to hope to entertainment with musical influences of Tin Pan Alley and Broadway. Featuring a special appearance by Cantor Katie Kaplan!
