Sheep Shearing Demonstrations- A baa-rilliant day out for all the family!

Join us in the Rare Breed Farm Park for a fun-filled day as we bring you live sheep shearing demonstrations with our very own Shepherd, Rich.

Ever wondered how a sheep gets its summer haircut? Now's your chance to watch it happen. Learn how the thick winter wool is carefully removed and understand why shearing is so important for the health and wellbeing of our flock.

Shearing demonstrations will take place at 11am, 1pm and 2pm, lasting around 20 minutes, with plenty of time afterwards for questions.

But that’s not all! Alongside the shearing, Laura will be showing how wool is spun and crafted into beautiful creations through spinning and rug making demonstrations. This is a perfect way to see the journey from fleece to fabric!

Well behaved dogs are welcome on leads but must be kept at a respectful distance from the animals while in the Farm Park.

Usual admission applies for Parkland, Gardens and the Rare Breed Farm Park – Free for Sledmere Friends Members.
