The 127th annual reunion of the descendants of Cornelius Davis, 2nd will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025*. We will meet at noon at the West Stafford Fire Department, 144 W. Stafford Road (Rte. 190), Stafford Springs, Connecticut, at the outdoor pavilion in back of the fire station. As in the past, we are asking attendees to bring an item of food to share with the group. If anyone is uncomfortable with sharing food, they are welcome to bring their own food and drink to the reunion. As always, the potluck luncheon will begin at 1:00 pm followed by a meeting with the election of officers for 2025-2026. And, of course, we'll have the traditional “bean” jar! Guess the number of beans (or whatever else we choose to put in!) and you win a prize! We'll also have awards for the youngest, the oldest, the attendee(s) having traveled the greatest distance, and the family with the most members present.
Once again, we plan to stream the business and presentation portion of the reunion over Zoom. We would like to know who will be coming by August 3, 2025, so that we may plan accordingly. The WSFD facilities ensure that we will have enough shelter, tables, and chairs for all. But for planning purposes, please help by notifying us by the deadline. The Reunion Committee will provide plates, cups, napkins, and beverages. Distance and other reasons always prevent many descendants from attending. We would still like to hear from you with vital information, address changes, and addresses of family members who may not be on the mailing list or changes to be made to the Family Tree.
Expenses for the reunion are financed by a “free will” collection taken during the meeting and by generous donations received by mail. As always, the Family Tree and the Davis Family Genealogy books and related printed materials will be on display. As of June 20, 2025, we have identified 38,653 descendants of Cornelius Davis, 2nd, and the hunt continues!
