Stars Over Katahdin 2025

Join us Saturday, September 27th for Stars Over Katahdin, our annual celebration of the darkest skies east of the Mississippi River. Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument became an International Dark Sky Sanctuary in 2020 after years of local advocacy and education, including this event!

This year's SOK will be held at Taylor's Katahdin View Campground in Stacyville and includes:

-"Penobscot Sense of Place" discussion with James Eric Francis Sr.
-Campfire chats with expert astronomers
-Burnurwurbskek Singers
-Family-friendly activities
-Night sky viewing with astronomers and professional telescopes

Registration is required. This event is free though donations are welcome with registration!
