Peer-to-Peer Fundraising: Community-Driven Growth for Nonprofits

According to Blackbaud’s eNonprofit Benchmark Study, the average nonprofit has to reach 1,250 people with an in-house email fundraising appeal to land one donation. But a peer-to-peer fundraiser only has to reach 4 of her friends with an email to land that same donation.

Are you ready to empower your community to champion the mission of your nonprofit? This session provides an introduction to Peer-to-Peer fundraising, strategies for starting a community giving program, and specific structures of different types of peer-to-peer campaigns. If you are a nonprofit professional or leader that is ready to launch your first peer-to-peer funding campaign, or if you already have an established community fundraising program, this workshop will offer practical advice as well as guidance for growth. Additional resources for further study will be provided to attending participants.

Peer-to-peer fundraising now accounts for upwards of one-third of all online fundraising, according to the online-donation platform Classy — with the average online peer-to-peer fundraiser generating an average of $568.
