Clarinetist Jake Meyer hosts the Twin Cities Reed Quintet in his Summit Avenue backyard in St. Paul on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 7:00 pm. Oboist Carrie Vecchione and her bassist husband Rolf Erdahl host the TCRQ the preceding evening, Aug. 20 in their Apple Valley backyard.
The Twin Cities Reed Quintet presents music from the new and growing repertoire for the exciting and dynamic Reed Quintet genre. Oboe, Sax, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon. You'll discover music with dark, rich, vibrant sonorities & engaging, rollicking, and even rocking repertoire. Carrie Vecchione, oboe, Joan Hutton, saxophone, Jennifer Gerth, clarinet, Pat O'Keefe, bass clarinet, & Nick Ober, bassoon.
All the artists wanted to bring music to their communities to enjoy on a summer evening. Plan for beautiful weather and music!
The Apple Valley concert will be at the Vecchione/Erdahl home, 6857 133rd St. W., Apple Valley. It's the house with the solar panels and the oboe/bass tree statue out in front!
There's no charge for the concerts, though tips for the performers will be accepted. Light snacks and beverages will be provided. Weather and performance updates will be posted here at Facebook.com/oboebass.
