Ramsey After Dark: Victorian Superstitions

Superstitions were a part of Victorian life, from the interpretation of prophetic omens, to dating customs, and death and mourning rituals.

This tour explores the mysterious world of superstitions and examines what they reveal about the hopes, fears, and beliefs of 19th century Americans.

Hear excerpts from Ramsey family letters, play Victorian fortune telling games, and discover how, even in a century of rationalism and scientific progress, superstitions still captured the imagination.

This program is recommended for ages 18 and up. Cost is $18-20.
