Old Home Certified (OHC) is a regional Realtor® designation developed by Rethos. This two-day, 11 credit course is team-taught and covers a range of topics, from architectural style eras and old home building science, to local vs. national historic designations. Attendees get a 360-degree understanding of our local built environment.
We’ve gathered a dream team of expert instructors in architecture, real estate, and historic preservation to share information in this groundbreaking course. Serve your clients better by gaining effective insights about the homes you work with daily.
There are two options when registering for OHC. If you have taken the full OHC course within the past 3 years (2023, 2024, or 2025), you only need to register for Day 2 to maintain your designation (or take 5 credits of CE electives offered throughout the year). Everyone else must attend both days.
Course Details:
Day One (6 CE Credits): our core curriculum, taught by Rethos staff. These four classes provide the foundational knowledge for realtors interested in old homes. They are:

Day Two (5 CE Credits): a rotating selection of electives, taught by outside experts. Topics vary, ranging from the technical to the historical. The class offerings for 2026 will be released in November 2025.
