What a lovely show we have for you Friday, August 29!!! At Dissonant Works of course! Why’d you even ask?
Yes, you’re very perceptive, it’s doors at 7PM, I know that’s a bit of an earlier start, but you know these things often start late. But not too late mind you!!!!
Oh yes yes, it’s $10/pwyc. We want everyone to be able to see the show you know.
Oh ok here we go, this is the part I’m interested in!!! Who’s playing, you asked!
Well, I’ll lay it all out for you.
Wiggpaw + Danny Pankratz
Maureen Keaveny
Dronelayer + Erin Raines
Bren + Bob Ross
Yes yes yes, quite some interesting performers in there! 3 duos and a solo performance!
Tell you a little bit more about them, you ask? fine, but I’m a little bit weary, so I hope you appreciate it
Wiggpaw uses field recordings, found sounds, contact mics, noise, you name it. He’s a legend, don’t you know! The person he’s playing with, Danny Pankratz is an improvising guitarist who uses classical guitar technique on a nylon string guitar. Yes I said guitar eight times in that last sentence, but it was actually three so you’re not so great at counting, after all, are you?
Maureen Keaveny is a brilliant visual artist, who also happens to be a brilliant musician/sound artist! Some people just get all the talent, don’t they?
Dronelayer is a downright devious guitarist, dynamic, and full of delectable sounds. Yes, my D alliteration kind of stopped short there. But they’re fantastic. They’re also from Cheer Accident! They will be playing with Erin Raines, a autoharpist, cellist, zitherist?, whatever she wants to do on any instrument, she can! She does more for music than you could ever know, you little urchin.
Finally, trumpet player about town, lovely toots and all, the tone to K*ll for and so very versatile, Bren will be playing a set with bass master, guitar maestro, painter of happy trees, Bob Ross. Ohhh I’m drooling, sorry about that, let me run to the water closet and get our handkerchief. That’s where I keep my handkerchiefs.
