We always love to work food into our events in some manner. In this upcoming event, we'll pair food and cars with art! We can even call this a Swedish Midsommar event, but one week late.
We'll meet at IKEA in Midtown at 11am on Saturday, June 28. We'll gather in the Northwest corner of the parking lot along Forest Park Avenue for some Volvo chat and photos under the iconic IKEA sign. Then we'll proceed into the IKEA cafe for lunch, featuring the famous IKEA Swedish meatballs.
After lunch, we'll drive to Forest Park and the St. Louis Art Museum to take in their latest traveling exhibit, "Roaring: Art, Fashion and the Automobile in France, 1918-1939". This exhibition has a limited run through July 27, so time is running out. Admission cost is $20 adults, $16 seniors, $16 students, $11 children.

From the SLAM website:
"Roaring explores the transformative role of the automobile in pre–World War II France and highlights innovations across art and industry by those who embraced it as a provocative expression of the modern age. This expansive exhibition features paintings, photographs, sculpture, furniture, films, fashion, textiles, and 12 historic automobiles."
The autos on display are extremely rare, never seen before in St. Louis, and have won many awards over the years. This is an opportunity not to be missed.
If you can't join us on June 28, be sure to find time to take in this special exhibition before it closes July 27.
This event will occur rain or shine. We hope to see you then!
