Johnson Geo Centre is getting into the holiday spirit this year with an expanded, limited time exhibit.
"Science in Motion: The Geo Holiday Express” takes a look at the science behind trains, which have such a connection to the Christmas season. The exhibit includes multiple model train displays, a holiday train tree, a LEGO train from the NewfoundLUG, and programming to speak to the science of motion in general.
Opening Wednesday, November 26, the exhibit will run until Sunday, December 21 (the final day of our season).
Saturday, November 29, is also our Family Day for the month. Coinciding with the opening of our new exhibit, the theme will be a Train Carnival Day. Activities will include science demonstrations, crafts, story time, a scavenger hunt, and a photo station – all with a locomotive theme. Everything the train enthusiast could look for! Geo Gifts is getting in on the fun as well with a great selection of train-themed gift ideas in stock.
All Family Day activities and the new exhibit are included in Geo’s regular admission fee.
More holiday fun is planned for the month of December, with a Science with Santa Family Day on Saturday, December 13, and a special showing of the film “Polar Express” on the evening of Wednesday, December 10. Details are available on our website: mun.ca/geocentre
