We’re delighted to announce a very special offering this fall at the Interpretation Center at
O’Brien Farm — a six-week Irish Language and Film Class, hosted by Irish language scholar
Professor Alanagh Ní Ghríofa of Memorial University.
This immersive program is perfect for anyone interested in exploring the Irish language through
film and conversation
Program Schedule:
● Monday, Sept 29 (7–8 PM) – Introduction to Irish: Language and vocabulary class
● Monday, Oct 6 (7–9 PM) – Film Screening: An Cailín Ciúin (The Quiet Girl) – Irish
language with discussion
● Monday, Oct 13 (7–8 PM) – Irish Language Lesson
● Monday, Oct 20 (7–9 PM) – Film Screening: The Wind That Shakes the Barley (English-
language, Irish cultural focus)
● Monday, Oct 27 (7–8 PM) – Irish Language Lesson
● Monday, Nov 3 (7–9 PM) – Film Screening: The Camino Voyage, followed by discussion
Program Details:
● Cost: $120 for the full six-week program ($20 per session)
● Includes snacks during language classes and popcorn during film screenings
● Registration is required for the full program — no single drop-ins
● Capacity: 24 participants
