Thanks! to everyone who participated at the Chili Cook-Off and Pie Supper. You helped the Museum raise $2408 in a fun night of food and activities. Thanks especially to MC Rick Mansfield and his wife Judy, Dennis Strothcamp and his band, and the couple from Bourbon who demonstrated Ozark jigging during the cakewalk, plus the 13 people who brought chili, and everyone who baked for us to have home made goodies to auction.
What is next? Daniel Boone and family! Most of you know Boone came to Missouri late in life, and died here. On Sept. 13, members of the Boone Society will be giving a presentation for us at the historic Good Hope Baptist Church on Ridge Avenue. Starts at 1 p.m., and thanks to museum member Rosie Brison, who made this much more comfortable venue possible. Come learn about Daniel, Daniel Morgan and Nathan Boone and others early on that Saturday, then follow us as we open the museum afterwards.
There will be books for sale, and light refreshments served. Free to attend.
