Henna is a natural product, made from a plant with ingredients like water and essential oils used to temporarily stain the skin. It has been around for ages and utilized by many different cultures, such as in places like India and the Middle East. It is a traditional part of Indian weddings still today, where brides will get extensive mehndi done on their hands and feet with intricate & detailed designs.
People have henna done for many reasons, like an expecting mother might have her pregnant belly adorned close to her due date to celebrate the beauty & changes that motherhood brings, as well as to protect the baby.
The henna will go on wet as a paste, and it will take about 20-30ish minutes or so to dry once she has finished, and you’ll notice it will start to get darker in color and harden. The hardened part will start to fall off on its own-just let that happen, because the longer you leave the paste on, the darker your stain will get and the longer it will last you. It will be a bright orange at first and turn to a deeper brown over the next day or two, and that stain will last you about a week or two.
