Brink for a Cause - Cincinnati Donauschwaben Youth Group

The Jugendgruppe (or Youth Group) is a dance group for 13 -25 year old members of the Cincinnati Donauschwaben. The purpose of the Youth Group is to maintain the customs and ways of life of the old country (predominantly Romania, Serbia and Hungary) by wearing the traditional dress, singing songs, and performing folk dances. Our group performs at our club's Schwabenfest and Oktoberfest every year, as well as at regional festivals, Oktoberfests, and events through out the year. We really enjoy performing for schools and nursing homes.

On weekends that we are not performing our group travels to other cities within the United States and Canada to meet with other Donauschwaben Youth Groups. Every 10 years we take a trip to Europe to meet with the Donauschwaben communities that are still strong there to perform for and learn from them.

Funds raised for the Donauschwaben Youth Group will help to off set the cost of travel and costuming for our members.
