Moving the mind

Join Rachael Mackenzie, World Thai-Boxing Champion, British Boxing Champion, and Senior Athlete Mentor with the Youth Sport Trust, as she combines her experience as an elite athlete with her expertise as a neurological specialist physiotherapist. She will share insights into the connection between movement, psychology, and brain development, highlighting how physical activity supports cognitive function, emotional regulation, and resilience in young people.

This engaging and interactive session will explore the science underpinning the relationship between movement and the brain, translating current research into practical, evidence-based strategies that can be implemented throughout the school day.

You will leave with actionable tools to support improved behaviour, attention, and attainment by optimising brain function and reducing the impact of environmental stressors. The session will make clear links to classroom practice, whole-school approaches, and sustainable strategies that support young people to develop healthy, resilient brains.
