St Andrews Strings & Chamber Choir Concert

St Andrews' Strings and Chamber Choir look forward to welcoming you to their autumn concert on Monday 24th November, where Strings will perform movements from Janáček’s Suite for Orchestra and Elgar’s Serenade. Through these, they shall explore the depth and variety that 19th century music offers, contrasted with a more modern piece to illustrate both the old and new. A joint piece with the Chamber Choir will also highlight the harmonious blend of voice and strings.


Chamber choir will showcase a variety of music from across space and time. Choral classics such as Finzi's 'My spirit sang all day' feature, alongside more unorthodox offerings from Aaron Copland. Medieval Latin harmonies will sit alongside the Kings' Singers arrangements of popular tunes, ending with a performance of Esenvalds' 'Stars', featuring musical glasses as well as an 8 part score!​


Doors will open in the McPherson Recital Room at 7pm with the concert beginning at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £6 for general, £3 for students/children and £1 for Music Society members and they can be bought here or on the door
