🎉 Join Us to Mark a Historic Milestone – 80 Years Since VE Day
On Thursday, 8th May 2025, we come together as a community to honour a truly momentous occasion — the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. Let’s gather to celebrate peace, remember those who served, and reflect on the incredible resilience of generations past.
The Parish Council warmly invites everyone to an evening of celebration and remembrance — a heartfelt tribute supported by the wonderful efforts of St Denys Church Bell Ringers, The Working Men’s Club, St Dennis Band, Imerys Mid Cornwall Male Choir, St Dennis Fire Service, and our fantastic team of Volunteers.
🕡 The Evening Begins at 6:30 PM at the Working Men’s Club, where the uplifting sound of the St Denys Church bells will ring out across the village — a powerful symbol of freedom and hope.
🎶 The St Dennis Band will set the tone with rousing musical tributes, followed by poignant readings of remembrance.
☕ After a chance to enjoy light refreshments, the incredible voices of the Imerys Mid Cornwall Male Choir will carry us into the evening with stirring performances.
🕯️ We’ll bring the night to a meaningful close with a short service led by Rev. Chris, and the lighting of the beacon — a shining symbol representing the ‘light of peace’ that emerged from the dreadful darkness of war, unity and remembrance.
✨ This is a free community event, open to all. Bring your friends, family, and neighbours — let’s stand together as we honour the past and celebrate the spirit of peace.
