All are welcome for a day of spakwus counting and community connection as we celebrate one of our region's most remarkable winter wildlife events!
This long‑standing tradition of official eagle counting, which began in 1986, continues to provide valuable insights into eagle populations and salmon runs.
Each year, volunteers adventure along the Squamish River - from the Elaho to downtown and Paradise Valley to the Stawamus River to help track Bald Eagle numbers and support local wildlife.
Location and groups will be determined based on experience and ability, please fill in the form linked.
Bring binoculars, warm clothing, and curiosity. 🪶 Photos and counts will be shared after the event!
We gratefully acknowledge that the land on which
we gather and help steward is the ancestral territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw
