Tree Planting Ceremony

The Greater Parkcrest Neighborhood Association would like to formally invite you to a Neat Neighborhood / Clean Green Springfield dedication on Thursday October 9, 2025 at 9:00 AM. Our special guests on hand for the ceremonial spade turning will be Erin Danastasio, Executive Director of the Hatch Foundation and Brandon Jenson, Councilman from Zone 3.

The dedication will feature the planting of mature autumn blaze maple trees in Mann - Park which is adjacent to Horace Mann Elementary School by Carson’s Nursery. Greater Parkcrest as last years first place winners in Zone 3 of the Neat Neighborhood contest, decided to use the grant money award to beautify our neighborhood by planting trees to represent all the lost and broken ones in the spring storms. They will provide many benefits as they grow. They will provide shade, beautiful red color in the fall and remembering back to my own childhood, the leaves could be used for art projects at school by the children. We will hand out native seed packets to everyone the attends this event. We want to thank both the Hatch Foundation and the City of Springfield for continuing to support Neat Neighborhood / Clean Green Springfield for another year.

Our Neighborhood Association is dedicated to being 'Good Neighbors' to our city. Please mark your calendars and plan on attending this event. Take time to share the event location and time to everyone to encourage others to do the same in their neighborhoods.
