🧪🚀 S.T.E.A.M. Saturdays – Powered by Curiosity! 🎨🔬

In partnership with the Illinois State Museum, the Abraham Lincoln Council is excited to bring back S.T.E.A.M. Saturdays in 2025 and 2026—a hands-on, minds-on experience for boys and girls ages 5–11!

Each event features a fun, themed session focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, with engaging activities designed to spark creativity and exploration.

📍 Location: Illinois State Museum
🕤 Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

🎉 Event Themes & Dates:
🧠 Sept 6 – Coding Unplugged – Dive into the world of computer science-no screens required! Coding Unplugged is a fun, hands-on STEM event that teaches coding concepts through interactive games, puzzles, and team challenges.
🤖 Oct 11 – Robotics – Get ready to roll into the world of robotics! In this hands-on STEM event, kids will explore programming and problem-solving using Spheros and Ozobots - fun, interactive robots they can code and control.
🧪 Nov 8 – Mad Scientists – Put on your lab coats and get ready for wild experiments! Mad Scientists is a high-energy STEM event where kids become junior scientists, mixing, bubbling, and blasting their way through fun, hands-on science activities. Curiosity, creativity, and a little “madness” are all part of the fun!
🕵️ Feb 14 – Forensics – Step into the shoes of a young detective! In this exciting STEM event, kids will explore the world of forensic science through hands-on activities like fingerprinting, mystery solving, and simple experiments. Perfect for curious minds who love puzzles, clues, and a little bit of science magic!
⚙️ Mar 14 – Simple Machines – Discover how things move and work in this hands-on STEM event! Kids will explore simple machines like levers, pulleys, and wheels through fun experiments and creative building challenges. Perfect for young inventors who love to tinker, build, and explore how everyday objects work!
🦴 Apr 11 – Digging in the Past – Travel back in time to explore the world of dinosaurs and fossils! In this hands-on STEM event, kids will become junior paleontologists—digging for “fossils,” examining prehistoric clues, and learning amazing facts about dinosaurs. Perfect for curious kids who love dinosaurs and getting their hands a little dirty!

💵 Pricing:
Scouts: $25 per session or $125 for all 6 sessions

Non-Scouts: $30 per session or $150 for all 6 sessions

This is a perfect opportunity for kids to learn, explore, and create—all while having a blast in a museum setting!
