Throughout October, the Commission’s staff will hold three focused Community Feedback Sessions to ensure that the voices of residents, advocates, and service providers directly shape the final recommendations presented to the Sangamon County Board. These are not routine meetings. They are the community’s chance to intervene, insist, and influence the future of justice, equity, and safety in Sangamon County.
Each evening, the Commission’s Managing Director and Public Engagement Manager will walk attendees through draft recommendations interweaving insights from the Justice Collaboratory research. This process is designed for real dialogue: to listen, to be challenged, and to ensure the Commission’s final report reflects both data and lived experience.
Whether you are a journalist seeking to document this turning point, a service provider advocating for better systems, or a resident demanding change, you belong in these rooms!
This is an invitation to participate in history, not as a spectator but as a shaper of outcomes.
Together, we can ensure that the policies forged in this moment carry the wisdom, courage, and truth of those most impacted.
