Using Plants as Medicine 2025
Three Days of Ancient Healing Wisdom
July 4-6, 2025 | Springlake Hotel, Brisbane | 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
There's something profound happening when we remember that plants have been our teachers and healers for thousands of years. This isn't just about herbal remedies—it's about reconnecting with the wisdom our ancestors carried, the knowledge that flows through Indigenous communities, and the science that's finally catching up to what traditional healers have always known.
Why This Matters Now
We're living in times that ask us to heal—individually and collectively. Mental health challenges, disconnection from nature, and a healthcare system that often treats symptoms rather than root causes. Plant medicine offers a different path, one that honors both ancient wisdom and modern understanding.
What You'll Experience
Learn from Real Teachers John Palmer will guide you through edible herb walks and traditional basket weaving. Claudia Ocean shares the sound and story of Lakota healing traditions. Dr. Denholm brings scientific perspective to psychedelic therapy research. Ice Inkhamwong opens hearts through ceremonial cacao.
Hands-On Healing This isn't lecture-style learning. You'll walk with plants, work with your hands, breathe together, and experience sound healing. Marjolein teaches kung-fu and beekeeping wisdom. Rich Baron explores how music enhances therapeutic work.
Real Conversations The Wise Women Talk addresses how plants serve our communities. Sessions on digital detox for mental health with Kelda John, exploring alternate lives with Nick, and practical plant safety with the Selfseeker Community.
Each Day Unfolds Differently
Friday - Opening & Foundation Start in the earth with John Palmer's herb walk, witness a powerful opening ceremony, then dive into soil microbiology, hemp innovation, traditional bush medicine, and close with djembe drumming that will move your soul.
Saturday - Depth & Discovery Begin with basket weaving and crystal harp music, journey through cacao ceremony, explore psychedelic-assisted therapy research, and discover how the cosmos influences plant medicine. End with a meditative sound journey with Earthsong Vibration.
Sunday - Integration & Practice Morning Kung-fu and beekeeping, mushroom cultivation stories, sound healing with plants, then practical skills for growing and sharing medicine safely. Close with art, breathwork, and a community music jam.
