Nature Coast Orchid Society will host Jeff Adkins, an AOS Judge and third generation orchid grower, for a program on “How to Build a Quality Orchid Collection.” He worked with a commercial nursery in Miami for many years until it closed after hurricane damage. Jeff, who has grown orchids for more than 30 years, then moved to Orlando where he opened Adkins Orchids. He grows mostly “showy” Cattleyas, Dendrobiums and Vandas and will be selling some of his plants. There will be a members’ blooming plant display and raffle. Doors open 11 AM, meeting 12 PM, in the Church Hall. Free parking available. First visit to NCOS is free. NCOS is a 501 (c)(3) group. See www.naturecoastorchidsociety.com for info.
