A heartwarming musical based on the beloved holiday television special. Young Rudolph struggles to fit in with the other reindeer in Christmastown and sets off to find a place where he’ll be accepted. As he befriends fellow misfits along the way, Rudolph comes to understand that home is where he belongs. Returning to the North Pole just as a storm threatens to cancel Christmas, Rudolph finally gets his chance to shine!
Filled with musical holiday hits and nostalgic charm, "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" features favorite characters including Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius and the Abominable Snow Monster in an adventure that reminds us that what makes us each different is what makes us all special.

- Numerous puppets are utilized in the production — experience or interest is encouraged.

𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐒
RUDOLPH
A young buck. Youthful; physically agile; winning performer; vulnerable but strong; a solid singer. Vocal range: D3 – B4
SAM
A snowman. A warm, middle-aged man with a relaxed demeanor. A powerful storyteller who never gets in the way of the story he’s telling. A knowing sense of humor; an appealing, warm singing voice. Vocal range: B2 – F#4
SANTA CLAUS
Larger-than-life personality; cheerful but distracted. Agelessly youthful, but should read middle-aged. Strong singing voice. Vocal range: G2 – D4
HERMEY
An elf. Charmingly apologetic, but with inner strength. Strong comic sensibility; must move well and have a strong character voice. Vocal range: C#3 – B4
CLARICE
A young doe. Youthful; physically agile. Strong, willful, loving, flirtatious, must have a lilting, pure soprano voice.
YUKON CORNELIUS
A prospector. Tall, large man who should read mid-40s; instantly likable character; slightly absent-minded; physically agile and strong comedic ability. Vocal range: C3 – E4
DONNER
Rudolph’s father. Physically agile; tougher on the outside than he is on the inside. Vocal range: D#3 – E4
MRS. DONNER
Rudolph’s mother. Maternal, soft-spoken, quietly strong. Warm mezzo. Vocal range: Bb3 – G4
MRS. CLAUS
Feisty, matter-of-fact, inherently warm. A strong belter.
FIREBALL
A young buck. Featured member of the chorus; young, sparky, boyish.
COACH COMET
Reindeer Games Coach; Clarice’s father. Physically agile; featured member of Santa’s team; leads the reindeer games with coach-like quality.
BOSS ELF
Humorless manager of the elves’ workshop; innate comic sensibility.
KING MOONRACER
King of the Island of Misfit Toys. King Moonracer is conceived as a large stage puppet; his personality must come through his voice, which projects a strong, decisive personality; stern but warm.

Powerful presence and voice; The Bumble is a three-dimensional puppet.
