𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖
In this hilarious parody of a familiar story, three potential heroes are just trying to make it through a magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children. Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal housemates. Their epic quest takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be.

- Seeking a company of twelve or more readers of all ages, genders, ethnicities, and cultures to portray lead characters plus more than forty lesser characters (including various professors, monsters, students, rivals, headmasters, ghosts, athletes, adults, villains, elves, ancestors, and Death Buddies)
- No prepared reading or monologue required; please be prepared for cold readings from the script (instruction, support and time with material will be provided)
- Production schedule includes minimal rehearsals (likely no more than two rehearsals per week, plus tech and dress)
- This readers’ theater production is performed with scripts and simplified staging, and presented without costumes, props or scenery

Wayne Hopkins – a nerdy orphan wizard boy from New Mexico

Oliver Rivers – a mathematician wizard from New Jersey

Megan Jones – daughter of the infamous Xavia Jones, who thinks she should be in the Snakes house, not the Puffs house

Narrator (character) – the one with all the heavy books

Commentator – the one who gets to read all the witty and occasionally very funny stage directions

Cedric – the lead Puff

Mr. Voldy – an evil and dark lord who wants to take over the school and K*ll Mr. Potter

Mr. Potter – a famous student in the Brave house, who kills magical beasts and constantly steals opportunities from the Puffs

Susie Bones – a Puff who lives in fear of death, because her entire family died

J. Finch Fletchley – a flamboyant and happy Puff

Sally Perks – a Puff who, without her glasses, is completely blind throughout half the show

Ernie Mac – a very confident and self-obsessed Puff

Hannah – a shy Puff who doesn’t realize she is being made fun of by the other houses

Leanne – a Puff who grew up as an only child, has never seen other children until now and wants to be friends with everybody
