Traditional Sourdough Workshop with Freckleton Farm
Join Kirtley Freckleton of Freckleton Farms at Mulberry Market for an approachable, hands-on evening all about sourdough! Whether you're brand new to baking or looking to simplify your current process, this class is designed to make sourdough as simple and successful as possible.

Kirtley will walk you through each step of the sourdough journey—sharing what truly matters, what you can skip, and how to fit sourdough into real life. You’ll leave with confidence, a ready-to-bake dough, and the tools you need to keep going at home.

What You’ll Learn:

Caring for Your Starter: Learn how to feed and maintain your own sourdough starter—yours to take home in a glass jar.

Making Your Own Dough: Mix and knead your own loaf during class, then take it home to rise and bake.

Understanding the Process: Watch and taste your way through all 4 stages of sourdough with pre-made loaves for reference.

What’s Included:

Printed Instruction Packet with recipes, tool recommendations, and step-by-step guidance

Sourdough Starter in a Glass Jar to take home and begin your baking journey

Medium to Large Mixing Bowl to transport your dough home
Tea Towel to Cover Loaf
Optional Kitchen Scale

This relaxed and educational evening is perfect for anyone ready to dive into the world of sourdough!

DUE TO LIMITED SEATING, WE REQUEST THAT IN THE CASE YOU NEED TO CANCEL YOU DO SO AT LEAST 72 HOURS BEFORE A SCHEDULED CLASS. THIS GIVES US THE OPPORTUNITY TO FILL YOUR SPOT. YOU MAY CANCEL BY PHONE OR IN PERSON. IF YOU HAVE TO CANCEL YOUR CLASS, WE CAN OFFER YOU A REFUND IF YOU CANCEL BEFORE THE 72 HOURS. HOWEVER, IF YOU DO NOT CANCEL PRIOR TO THE 72 HOURS, YOU WILL LOSE THE PAYMENT FOR THE CLASS.

LATE POLICY

TO ENSURE THE BEST EXPERIENCE FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS, WORKSHOPS WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT THE SCHEDULED START TIME. GUESTS WHO ARRIVE MORE THAN 20 MINUTES LATE WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO JOIN THE CLASS AND WILL FORFEIT THEIR TICKET. PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE A FEW MINUTES EARLY TO GET SETTLED BEFORE WE BEGIN.
