UTGD at Sparta Historical Society!

Sparta Historical Society presents opening day at the Van Kirk Homestead Museum of our new fall exhibit “TREE-mendous!” on Sunday, September 14th from 1-4pm. Our Fall Exhibit showcases the many healthy tree varieties on our property including our 375-year-old NJ Heritage white oak. Trees are critical to our environment, economy, and social well-being! This science exhibit highlights these benefits and displays local tree products, as well as their historical by-products used over the centuries at the Van Kirk farm and in Sparta. Come see these wonders of nature and enjoy our outdoor tree scavenger hunt! All are invited and admission is FREE.

Afterward, at 4-5:30pm on September 14th, we welcome UpTown GetDowns, NJ funkiest and most fun band! This event is totally weather dependent with a RAINDATE of 9/28. Come and listen to the Golden Oldies, music from 1950s-90s – The Classics Party Playlist! These professionals sing and play multiple instruments and have worked together over 20 years. Test your knowledge of songs by singing along. The melodies are embedded deep in your memories! Bring your chairs, hat and picnic basket for this OUTSIDE performance. Members are FREE, nonmembers $10.
