Welcome to "Tour of the Clotilda Wreck Site" event!
Join us at Blakely State Park on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 1:30 PM to tour the historic site of the wreck of the Clotilda.
The last known ship to bring enslaved Africans into America, the Clotilda rests in the waters of the Mobile River north of the city. Come along with us as we make our way to this historic site and explore this somber but pivotal saga in local history with national significance.
This special tour to the wreck site will be guided by Blakely Park partners from Africa Town Freedom Tours, a group comprised of descendants of Clotilda passengers, storytellers, and community leaders in Africatown dedicated to sharing this important story. It will provide information on the voyage of the Clotilda, its passengers and their lives, and the enduring legacy of that fateful voyage by telling their stories.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure you do not miss the boat as it will leave promptly at 1:30 PM.
There are a limited number of tickets available for this event due to limited space on the boat so please don't wait to secure your seat!
